September 8, 2025

GEORGETOWN, KY. (September 8, 2025) - Lifepoint Central Kentucky hospitals — Bluegrass Community Hospital, Bourbon Community Hospital, Clark Regional Medical Center, and Georgetown Community Hospital — are proud to continue their partnership with Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) to host medical students for clinical rotations.
Since the program’s inception in 2023, dozens of student doctors have trained in Central Kentucky hospitals under the guidance of nearly 40 preceptors. This year, the hospitals are proud to welcome the following students into the program:
Anushay Ansari, Maggie Bratton, Julia Budnick, MacKenzie Cole, Paul Freedman, Samuel Hacker, Maheen Khan, Rohit Mantha, Jacob Niehaus, Sulagna Sensarma, Chayoot Suravachirasak, Allison Villari, Shelby Wallace, and Michael Wenderski.
Dr. Lucas Wright, board-certified general surgeon at Clark Regional Medical Center, reflected on his own student experience during his medical training:
“Being part of Clark Regional as a medical student played a pivotal role in shaping my career. The culture here was incredibly supportive, and I felt truly welcomed as part of the team. That experience left such an impression on me that I chose to return to Clark Regional as a practicing surgeon. I’m excited to see this next generation of student doctors continue that journey.”
The LMU-DCOM program blends pre-clinical and clinical training to develop physicians with strong diagnostic skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to compassionate care. By hosting students in Versailles, Paris, Winchester, and Georgetown, Lifepoint Central Kentucky hospitals are ensuring a pipeline of skilled, caring physicians dedicated to improving the health of local communities.
