Sleep Lab Receives AASM Re-Accreditation
January 24, 2018
Bourbon Community Hospital is proud to announce our Sleep Lab was recently surveyed by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and we received full re-accreditation for another five years with no suggested recommendations. Bourbon Community Hospital has been a leader in the sleep field since having opened their Sleep Lab back in 1995. The Sleep Lab is one of the first in Kentucky to be accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine accreditation reflects a commitment to ensure that patients with sleep disorders receive the highest quality of care. The AASM’s Standards for Accreditation is the gold standard by which the medical community and the public evaluate sleep medicine facilities. The AASM accreditation demonstrates quality care, dedication to excellent care, recognized improvements in sleep medicine and meets the standards set forth by the academy.
Dr. Pam Combs, who is board certified in Sleep Medicine, has been the medical director of The Sleep Lab since its opening. She was instrumental in bringing this technology to our community. “We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Combs as our medical director and the wonderful staff in our Sleep Lab. All of our sleep technologists are registered polysomnographers and they provide excellent care to all our patients. They care about what they do and take pride in their work. I’m so excited for them to have received this distinction; it is well deserved”, stated Matt Smith, CEO at Bourbon Community Hospital.
