Meet Donna
Davis
Chief
Nursing Officer:
Becoming
CNO at Bourbon Community Hospital in 2006 after starting her career here as
a high school student volunteer in 1976, Donna actually began her nursing
profession with us in 1984, and after leaving for 4 years, she returned in
1991 and has been here since – she is truly a “home grown” friend, neighbor,
and caregiver to Bourbon County, and you can tell she is passionate about
her work, and living here.
“As the
CNO, I have all of nursing and ancillary services that report to me. We are
seeing growth in admissions and outpatient services. We have new physicians
joining us and it is a very exciting time for us at BCH.
I
enjoy the fact that I can have input to make a difference for our patients
and employees and it was an honor to be given the opportunity to be the CNO
of this hospital by our corporation after I was recommended by our staff
physicians.”

Donna on Living in Bourbon County:
Donna
enjoys living in Paris and frequenting her favorite stores and restaurants
where people know and welcome her by name. Her husband is Emmett Davis,
III, a Container Purchasing/Planner for Mallinckrodt, Inc. here in Paris,
KY. They have 2 children in college: Patricia is 23 and is in her 2nd year
of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama and Austin is 18 and a sophomore at
Eastern KY University majoring in Music Production.
Donna
enjoys traveling, gardening and cooking, and her favorite time of year is
the fall:
“Fall
brings back memories of my childhood with my Dad when we would have a large
tobacco harvest and all the men would come in to the farm. My Mother fixed
a huge lunch every day for the workers and we would serve pie and soft
drinks to the workers in the afternoon for their breaks. When I think of
fall, I think of the crisp morning air and I smell the
curing tobacco.”
Donna
describes Paris as “home for my family our entire lives. It is a
community that loves and supports you through times of celebration and times
of difficulty. Two years ago we had a tragic occurrence in our family and
the night of the accident over 60 people came to the hospital to be with us
and to support us.”

All of us,
including Donna, appreciate you, and we are dedicated to your wellness and
good health. We are your hospital! We’re proud of Donna and all of our
employees at Bourbon Community Hospital.
